| production method | 1. A dilute solution of zinc sulfate buffered with ammonium acetate was added dropwise to a saturated solution of H2Se, while H2Se gas diluted with N2 or H2 (produced by reaction with Al2Se3 and dilute hydrochloric acid) was introduced into the solution. The vessel in which the precipitate was generated was heated on a steam bath and the excess H2Se gas was absorbed in a wash bottle containing concentrated nitric acid. If the introduction of the zinc salt solution is too fast or the concentration is too high, a white precipitate is formed, and it takes a long time to change to the yellow ZnSe. The yellow ZnSe precipitate was difficult to filter and required centrifugation; The separated precipitate was washed with boiled dilute aqueous ammonia and then with methanol. The washed ZnSe precipitate was dried in a vacuum dryer containing CaCl2, and then dried in a dryer containing P2O5 at 120 °c. Zinc selenide is very sensitive to air when it is wet. Therefore, the dried product should be placed in a glass tube and heated at 600 ° C. For 2-4H in H2 or H2Se atmosphere to remove the oxidized product. 2.
